Re-fit the tool dock and it is then just a case of following the instructions for the Duet connections. This makes feeding the connectors through to the rear of the machine much easier.

When the wiring of the tool is complete and tidy remove the tool dock from the printed bracket and put the cable ties in place looped ready to tighten. When fitting the hot end and heater block I found it best to put the heater cartridge and thermistor in from opposite sides as it makes the wiring easier.Ĭonnect the thermistor so the connector is underneath as it gets in the way of docking if it is at the side. I didn't think it would fit through the sleeve but it does. I got this wrong on the first one and ended up cable tying the ribbon to the cable group and will sleeve it at a later date. The colourful ribbon cable is the correct one to use not the one neatly sleeved. If using the V2 angle bracket you will need another M3 countersunk and button head screw. The captive nuts need to all be put in place when the part cooling fan assembly is mounted as it saves taking it off again later. I found it easier to leave the hot end assembly until the tool head parts were assembled and I was ready for the wiring. My tips to make it a little easier are as follows just in case anyone else might find them useful

Yes the videos and instructions are good but there were a couple of questions I sort of muddled to the answers by trial and error. In the end I just kept calm and got on with it.
